Meet the Funders: Strengthening Partnerships with Black-Led Nonprofits

In-Person Event | MPN Conference Room, 1600 W. 41st Street, Suite 700, Baltimore, MD 21211

A continued joint effort by Maryland Philanthropy Network and the Black Executive Directors Network (BLK ED Network). Join us for Meet the Funders, the fifth convening in this ongoing series focused on strengthening relationships between Black-led nonprofits and institutional funders.

At a moment marked by shifting public funding, changing philanthropic priorities, and growing capacity pressures, this gathering creates space for direct conversation, shared learning, and practical dialogue. Black Executive Directors, Black-focused nonprofits, and funders will come together to examine what has changed in the sector, what challenges persist, and how trust-based funding relationships can move forward in the current landscape.

The program is designed as an interactive convening, featuring facilitated dialogue, mixed-group breakout sessions, and opportunities for candid exchange between nonprofit leaders and funders. Participants will engage in:

  • Facilitated discussions grounded in current nonprofit and philanthropic realities

  • Mixed-group breakout sessions with funders and nonprofit leaders

  • Shared learning focused on trust, equity, and long-term partnership

(This is not a traditional panel or pitch event. No direct fundraising will take place.)

This event is open to BLK ED Network members, MPN members, nonprofit leaders who identify as Black, and institutional funders. Space is limited to 40 participants.

Assistance & Cancellations: Please email info@theblackednetwork.org with any questions, assistance with registering, or changes to your registration. If you need to cancel, a recording of the facilitated discussion will be shared following the event. We expect this event to reach capacity, and canceled registrations will be released to other participants.
