BLK Leadership Accelerator Session 4: Legal & Compliance

This virtual session will take place on March 17, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 PM via Zoom, led by Krystle I. Myers, Esq., Founder and Managing Partner of ElevEn Law Firm.

Legal and compliance work shapes how nonprofits protect their mission, leadership, and community relationships over time. It establishes clear guardrails for decision-making, supports strong governance, and reduces risks that can stall growth or threaten credibility with funders and partners.

This session focuses on nonprofit responsibilities at both the organizational and leadership levels, connecting everyday operations to formal legal and compliance requirements. Participants will examine how governance structures, board roles, policies, contracts, employment and volunteer practices, fundraising rules, and reporting obligations work together to support accountability and long-term stability.

Rather than aiming for perfection, the emphasis is on clarity and prioritization. Leaders will identify what needs to be in place now, what can be strengthened as capacity grows, and when outside legal or compliance support becomes necessary. The session is designed to help nonprofit leaders move forward with greater confidence, awareness, and readiness as their organizations scale.

This workshop is exclusively for the 2025-2026 BLK Leadership Accelerator Class.

For those who couldn’t enroll in the in-person cohort, the virtual content is readily available through our member portal, ensuring all our members can access these invaluable insights and knowledge.
